Women’s snowboards come in every variety and skill level available to men; they are simply just designed with a smaller frame in mind. They also often feature more feminine designs and motifs, but don’t think that suggests any weakness on the rider’s behalf. They may feature flowers and kittens but often times these aren’t your little sister’s flowers or kittens. Watch out, because these girls can rip!

Women’s snowboards typically have a narrower deck that is usually often shorter. The deck may also be designed to be a little softer, more likely to bend, than a man’s board due to other physiological differences in men and women when landing. Some women however prefer harder boards which are also designed just for women though they are less common.

When shopping for women’s snowboards, it is a good idea to rent and test a few throughout a day of riding to really be sure it’s the board for you. Most snowboards cost hundreds of dollars so it is definitely worthwhile to get one you can enjoy for a couple of years. Taking the time to select the right board will certainly be worth it in the long run.
